Oklahoma Sooners OL Wanya Morris Traded to Atlanta Falcons

Oklahoma Sooners offensive lineman Wanya Morris has been traded to the Atlanta Falcons from the Kansas City Chiefs. This trade occurred recently and included a late-round pick swap. Morris, who transferred to Oklahoma from Tennessee, played for the Sooners during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, starting eight games at offensive tackle in 2022 and earning second-team All-Big 12 honors. He was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. During his time with Kansas City, he contributed to the team's success, including winning Super Bowl LVIII. Morris has made 16 starts in his NFL career, with 11 of those in the 2024 season. Now with the Falcons, Morris is expected to take on a more significant role as the team aims to rebuild its offensive line. He primarily plays right tackle, which is crucial for protecting the quarterback's blindside, especially with left-handed quarterbacks like Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa in the mix. After recovering from a season-ending knee injury, Morris is eager to establish himself as a full-time starter in Atlanta.
